Connecting Our Community

The Prescott Pride Center logo includes the phrase “Connecting Our Community.” In part, that means we create strong relationships within the GLBT community. That phrase also challenges us to reach out to the general community and build solid relationships that can have a positive impact on the GLBT population.

In an effort to connect with the greater community, the Pride Center decided to join the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. Our membership in this association has created a stronger community presence for our organization and the people we represent. We also just completed a huge mailing to almost 1000 other Chamber members in which we introduced the Pride Center and outlined the resources and services we offer. We believe this type of educational outreach is a critical step in becoming equal partners in the community we share.

If you have the opportunity to inform the public about our organization or our community, we encourage you to do so. Remember, it’s much harder for people to fear or hate something or someone they know personally. Let’s make it a goal to connect our ENTIRE community. With your help, we can create an environment in which the value of every individual is not only recognized and respected, but honored and celebrated!
